Dr Sohaib Nazir graduated from Imperial College London in 2007 with a dual award: MBBS and a BSc in Management with First Class Honours. His junior doctor training took place at Hammersmith Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital, before he embarked on specialist cardiology training across some of London's most prestigious institutions — Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, King's College Hospital, and St George's Hospital.
In 2016, Dr Nazir was awarded a highly competitive MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship to pursue a PhD at King's College London. His doctoral research focused on the application of advanced cardiac imaging — in particular, cardiac MRI — in the evaluation of coronary artery disease, helping to establish new diagnostic standards in the field.
In 2019, he was appointed to an NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship, one of the most prestigious academic clinical training positions available in the NHS. He currently holds dual consultant posts at the Royal Brompton Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic, HCA Healthcare UK, alongside his role as Clinical Senior Lecturer at King's College London.

Dr Nazir's clinical practice spans the full breadth of cardiology, with deep subspecialty expertise in three areas: advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure and cardiomyopathy, and cardio-oncology. He is a pioneer in hybrid PET-MRI cardiac imaging techniques and holds full accreditation in echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT.
Cardiac Imaging
Accredited in echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and pioneer in hybrid PET-MRI techniques.
Heart Failure
Specialist management of heart failure and cardiomyopathies across the full clinical spectrum.
Cardio-Oncology
Internationally accredited. Expert co-management with oncology teams for cancer-related cardiac care.
General Cardiology and Second Opinions
Chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and cardiovascular risk.

Dr Nazir is an active clinical researcher whose work has contributed substantially to the field of advanced cardiac imaging. His academic output includes numerous original peer-reviewed publications, presentations at international cardiology conferences, and the supervision of cardiology fellows and research students at King's College London.
He serves as Module Co-Lead for Clinical Applications of Medical Imaging on the MSc Healthcare Technologies programme at King's College London — bringing cutting-edge imaging science to the next generation of clinicians and healthcare innovators.
He is leading on a number of clinical studies related to multimodal imaging in cardio-oncology and coronary artery disease. More recently, as part of a team effort at King’s College London, his team was awarded with a £13million grant from the Medical Research Council for Total Body PET imaging and a €50.5million EU grant (COMPASS project) to advance cardio-oncology care and research for patients with cancer and heart disease. He hopes to use this in the future to improve diagnosis and treatment for patients.
